At the top of Kemmelberg, where the horizon stretches across the Heuvelland, an iconic location is reviving. Hostellerie Kemmelberg, once a meeting point for epicureans and gourmets, has been given a new look with an eye for refinement, texture and craftsmanship.
On arrival, the reception welcomes visitors with a sense of refined hospitality. The walls are finished with Thalixe, a mineral finish that absorbs and diffuses light with its subtle texture, for a tactile and vibrant feel. The Thalostuc furniture enhances this with a soft finish that perfectly matches the nuances in the room. The contrast between deep colour tones and clean lines immediately sets the tone for the rest of the design.
This sophisticated finish continues in the corridors and stairwell, where Thalixe adds subtle relief and soft depth to the walls. Even the original brick walls were covered with this micro stucco that respects the roughness of the past while adding a new layer of depth and softness.
In the bar, ambience meets functionality. The cabinets and the bar floor behind are finished in Monolith Sepia Black, an intense and characterful shade that gives the space a warm, exclusive feel. A perfect setting to enjoy a glass of wine while the evening light filters through the windows.
This choice of deep colours continues in the bedrooms, where, together with wooden accents and soft fabrics, they bring an extra layer of warmth and comfort. These warm tones flow seamlessly into the bathrooms, where Monolith not only adds a tactile dimension, but also continues the atmosphere of the bedrooms. For instance, Tortuga Green brings a calm, natural look throughout the bathrooms, while Tuscan Brown contributes to an intimate and luxurious atmosphere.
In short, Hostellerie Kemmelberg is not a hotel, but an experience. A place where materials speak and tactility stimulates the senses. A dialogue between interior and surroundings is created here, where understated grandeur and refinement come together in a timeless whole.
