In the centre of Nordnes, a central district in Bergen, Norway, this compact duplex flat was completely refurbished by our local partner Michelsens. The renovation focused on smart layouts and high-quality finishes, choosing a combination of Monolith and Thalostuc from the Odilon atelier.
The floor was given a Monolith finish: clean, robust and with a subtle structure that brings tranquility to the whole. The walls were finished with Thalostuc in a rough texture to match the architecture and light in the room. This finish gives the walls a soft depth and a living surface, without being overpowering. The soft hue of this mineral stucco was extended consistently across walls and ceiling, contributing to the calm and cohesive look of the interior.
The combination of these materials creates a pure yet characterful base, which nicely showcases all the other elements such as the wooden customisation and stainless steel details. Both the kitchen and living space are custom designed, with sustainable choices in materials and smart solutions for storage space.
